Why you should take part?
Young Professional workshop@Ocean Dialogues-2019 will address how knowledge on the ocean should be produced, shared and used so as to support effective Ocean Governance (with particular focus on RRI and OL).
If you are between 20-35 years old, live in an EU country and if you’re concerned with marine issues (as a part of industry, NGO, policy, public initiatives) – come join us at Ocean Dialogues 2019 in Brussels 18-19 of March as a Young Professional.
Being a part of the Young Professionals@ Ocean Dialogues will give you an opportunity to share your views with other (young) professionals, consult/connect with senior experts, meet people from different marine sectors and allow your voice to be heard by them. Moreover, as a part of Ocean Dialogues we envision a policy workshop at the European Parliament, where ambassadors from your group will bring your key messages to the Parliament!

What do we expect from you?

The goal of the Young Professionals workshop is to discuss and to propose practical solutions and identify pre-conditions for these solutions to be implemented and effective (including solutions that you as young professional can implement), to be included into Manifesto.
We hope that Young Professionals will identify solutions and changes that are “within their hands”
Organization of the Young Professional workshop
- The YP workshop will be moderated by the organizers, who will guide the group in their work and will be in touch with the participants before the event to communicate about preparations and logistics.
- The YP workshop will run as a parallel to the conference, and will have its own room for discussions, materials, access to internet
- The participants of the Young Professional workshop will participate in the “kickoff plenary” and brings its conclusions and thoughts to the final plenary session of the conference and the manifesto.
- YP participants will have access to the ‘demonstration of tools and products’ place and materials of the thematic parallel sessions, synthesis notes and other conference materials
